EverSafe was born from lived experience — a mum's journey to find reliable, practical first aid training for her family.
EverSafe was founded after our founder experienced first-hand how difficult it could be to find reputable and reliable CPR and first aid training when she became a first-time mum. While searching for a course, she encountered inconsistent availability and limited options, which highlighted a clear gap in the market for high-quality training people could genuinely rely on.
This experience sparked the idea behind EverSafe — a training provider focused on delivering professional, practical, and confidence-building emergency response education.
Before founding EverSafe, our founder spent many years working closely with families, supporting them with long-term planning around protection and guardianship. This background gave her a deep understanding of the concerns families carry and reinforced the importance of helping people feel prepared for the unexpected.
Today, EverSafe provides expert-led CPR and first aid training for individuals, families, and organisations. Our approach focuses on practical skills, clear guidance, and supportive learning environments that help people feel calm, capable, and confident in responding to an emergency.
Training Manager / Head of Training
Jo Newborn is our Training Manager and the heart behind our courses. She's a South African Paramedic with over a decade of experience in emergency and pre-hospital care, and, just as importantly, she's also a mum of four herself.
Jo is a qualified Intermediate Life Support (ILS) Paramedic, registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. She's an accredited DCAS Life Support Instructor and a licensed Health & Safety Institute Instructor, specialising in First Aid, CPR, and Basic Life Support.
What really sets Joanne apart, though, is how she teaches. She's calm, personable, and incredibly easy to understand, breaking down what can feel overwhelming into clear, practical steps that people actually remember. Her sessions are reassuring, confidence-building, and never scary, creating a safe space where questions are always welcome.
Having lived in the UAE for a number of years, Jo has seen first-hand the growing demand for high-quality CPR and First Aid training. This, combined with the powerful feedback she receives from clients who have gone on to use their skills in real-life situations, continues to motivate her work. For Jo, training is about more than just knowledge — it's about making a real difference, because at the end of the day, those skills could save a life.
Jo's mission is simple: to empower everyday people with life-saving skills that can make a real difference. Through her training, she helps turn uncertainty into confidence — one course at a time.
Founder & Partnerships Director
Michaela is the Founder and Partnerships Director of EverSafe. She started the company after becoming a first-time mum and realising how important it is to feel confident knowing what to do in an emergency.
When looking to arrange first aid and CPR training for herself and her nanny, Michaela found it surprisingly difficult to find a provider that felt reliable, practical and reassuring. That experience highlighted a clear need for high-quality training that people could genuinely trust.
Michaela has lived and worked across the Middle East for over 18 years and has spent much of her career in financial services, supporting expatriate families with their long-term financial planning. She continues to work in the financial services industry alongside her role at EverSafe. Through this experience, she has developed a deep understanding of the concerns families carry and the importance of helping people feel prepared for the unexpected.
EverSafe was created to bridge that gap — providing calm, practical and professional training that helps individuals, families and organisations feel confident responding to an emergency. Her goal is simple: to ensure more people feel informed, capable and reassured when it comes to knowing what to do when it matters most.
We focus on practical, hands-on guidance in a relaxed, supportive environment — not fear or pressure.
